At Iron Will, every broadhead component is engineered with a purpose, and bleeder blades are no exception. In this video, Iron Will Owner and Chief Engineer, Bill Vanderheyden, explains the science and engineering behind Iron Will’s broadhead bleeder blades. You’ll learn how Iron Will bleeder blades create devastating internal hemorrhaging and improved blood trails, while preserving the flight accuracy and deep penetration performance hunters demand from a premium broadhead. For hunters pursuing the ideal broadhead, this video explains why bleeder blade design matters.
WHY DO BROADHEADS HAVE BLEEDER BLADES?
Broadhead bleeder blades do a great job of creating a cross cut to open up holes for more bloodflow and to get more blood on the ground. Iron Will bleeder blades are 3/4 inch wide and they use the same sixty-two thousandths thick A2 Tool Steel as on our main blades. They're engineered to stay in tact if you hit heavy bone. They're strong enough, hard enough to cut through and continue penetrating all the way through the animal.
In our double bevel broadheads like our S Series and V Series, we have a double bevel bleeder blade. In our Single Bevel broadheads, we have a single bevel bleeder blade so they continue rotating through the animal after impact and don't hinder that rotation whatsoever.
Bleeder blades have relatively small area compared to the main blades so they really don't impact drag or lift or flight. We see very similar flight in our testing with or without a bleeder blade.
You can't beat our two-blade broadheads for maximum penetration through an animal, cutting through hide, bone, and tissue like no other, and getting all the way through the animal. By adding that 3/4 inch crosscut, hunters get more cut, more bleeding, and open up holes for just a better blood trail. Give our bleeder blades a try. We think you're going to love them.
