It's common for general broadheads to promote field-point-like flight. At Iron Will, we won't sacrifice the effectiveness of reliable fixed blade broadheads to adjust their flight to match field points. Instead, we engineered Iron Will Field Points using fluid dynamic modeling to better match the flight characteristics of our broadheads.
As a result, hunters can now count on their field points to have the same point of impact as their fixed blade broadheads. Watch below to see how we did it.
Most field points have much lower drag and lift than a broadhead. As a result, they'll have a different point of impact at long range. To prevent this, Iron Will Field Points are engineered differently. They are designed using fluid dynamic modeling to more closely match the amount of drag you get with fixed blade broadheads. By having a similar amount of drag, we found arrows to have the same amount of velocity drop and point of impact at long range. As a result, hunters can accurately take shots with broadheads as far as they would with field points.
Additionally, like all Iron Will components, Iron Will Field Points are made from hardened metal. Most field points are made from 300 series or softer steels. Our testing has shown that the hardened steel field point combined with a hardened steel Impact Collar and Iron Will HIT Insert gives hunters a very strong front of arrow to help it survive when flying into hard impacts.
Iron Will Field Points are specifically designed with a bulb shape at the tip. This bulb not only increases drag, but makes it easier to pull arrows from foam targets. By pushing the foam out away from the point, there's less friction and adhering on the shaft, which makes it easier to pull. For those who frequently practice or shoot 3D targets, this can be a great advantage.
By using Iron Will Field Points all summer long, bow hunters will find themselves well prepared to hit the mark when hunting season comes around in the fall.
