Big Rut Buck Went 40

Iron will Single Bevel Right 100 Grain with 535 grain total arrow set up. It was the Nov 3, 2025 rut. I was in the treestand northwoods of Wisconsin when I had a doe run in and stop, shortly after coming out of the marsh. This buck followed behind her. She bedded down right in front of my stand 30 yards out. He came in and I drew back at 31 yards when he got behind a tree. I shot the buck and he ran 40 yards tops and dropped with a pretty good blood trail starting after 15 yards, and rest is history.

I made the switch to Iron Wills from having my first bad shot in my life on a big buck the year prior. It had hit the shoulder scapula and didn’t penetrate ONE bit and I had a lighter arrow set up 440 grains.
